CRÈCHE HESS 2004 has been produced in the Schibig-studios in Steinen since 1983. These moderately modern statues were designed by Robert Hess in the years 1960. He was a carpenter that had to change his job for health-reasons. So he began to carve wood. As a wood-carver he was really a very gifted artist. Hess carved the statuettes in his unique style: elementary curved lines without detail, in natural unvarnished linden-wood. They soon became very popular and he had to engage several woodcarvers. With the passage of time his carving skill suffered by reduced vision. So he gave the exclusive right to carve and distribute his Hess-Crèches worldwide to Schibig Sculptor.

Three sizes: 20 cm, 40 cm and 100 cm.
